Dominic Venegas has been in the San Francisco Wine & Spirits Scene since 1999 as a mixologist. In 2002 he was hired by legendary John Walker & Co as Spirits Consultant, where he has
gained infinite amount of knowledge about spirits.
During the last five years the spirits selection at John Walker has become one of the most impressive on the West Coast. Dominic used this to his advantage and now can tell you about almost any spirit produced in the world, but one he can go on for days about is whisky.
By being the Buyer for JW he has tasted many whiskies from all around the world and discussed in length with their Master Distillers about their nuances and characteristics. He has been using this information to teach people in bars, restaurants, and classes about the history and traits of Whisky and the men who loved it so much. Dominic will guide you along and help you understand Whisky, the "water of life".
Mr. Venegas is at John Walker & Co. and currently an ambassador/educator for Diageo, who has the biggest portfolio of whiskies in the world.
